Job ID: 24341 Position Information: · Inspects exterior of tractor-trailer for evidence of excessive wear, damage or defects that may affect its safe operation, including lights, reflectors, wheels, hubs, hoses and couplings, tires, body parts and inspection plates · Inspects under tractor-trailer for evidence of wear, structural damage, or defects, including oil, fuel, coolant or air leaks, exhaust system, suspension, driveline, brake drums/linings, hoses and couplings, steering and clutch linkages, dolly, etc. · Replenishes vehicle with fuel, grease, fluids (oil, water, windshield cleaner), and air (tires) as needed. · Reports potential service or repair needs to the shop supervisor; may take vehicle out of service. · Washes exterior of tractors/trailers. · Inspects and performs routine services (replace lights, lubricate fifth wheel, tighten hose couplings) on converter dolly. · Completes daily "gate report" and other service records, as required. · Troubleshoots, repairs, or replaces defective parts in electrical systems · Identifies and/or troubleshoots operational problems on a trailer · Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures · Perform other duties as required

Qualifications: · Minimum of one year of related experience · Must possess some hand tools · Mechanical Aptitude · Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.) · Ability to lift tractor hood requiring about 70 pounds of force several times a day or more · Ability to operate hand trucks, tractors and forklifts · Ability to climb, stoop, bend, kneel and lift · Ability to follow instructions and complete required training · Ability to work various shifts
